Under the plan of heaven, the husband and the wife walk side by side as companions, neither one ahead of the other, but a daughter of God and a son of God walking side by side.

The counter is on!

Never mind about the countdown being off. I counted and it's on. I was right all along! Wow, there's not much time, better get to all your Christmas shopping!

Christmas Countdown

So, I just realized that my Christmas countdown is off! (Thanks a lot widget!) I have had several people comment on the fact that it's, like, 5 days off, but I think it's cute . . . so, I'm just going to leave it on there. We have been doing very well lately. I have a job interview tomorrow that I'm really excited about. It's at Primary Children's Hospital. (I would of course quite one of my other jobs, if I got this one.) I'll just have to see how things go tomorrow. We love you all and hope that you are having a happy holidays!

Messy Capri

Isaac and I took the kids to the daycare so that we could go out on a date. It was wonderful to get out . . . just the two of us. The kids had a great time. We don't take them to the daycare a lot when I'm not there, but they did really well. I sent dinner with the kids and some dessert as well. BreAnne at the daycare snapped this photo of Capri for me. I just thought I'd share it with you all.

Kendra Jaten's Wedding

We didn't have a blog in September when we went to Alaska to attend Isaac's sister's wedding. We had a wonderful time and Kendra was a beautiful bride. We were so impressed with her. She did almost everything for the wedding herself. (Okay, so she had some help from friends and family.) It turned out so pretty! Kendra and Ken were married in the Anchorage temple and Isaac and I were able to be there. It was a wonderful event. We are so excited to have Ken as part of our family. He is a really great guy and they make a really cute couple. Enjoy the pictures!

I figured out how to put music to my blog. Please enjoy! The song is called "Capri" by Colbie Caillat. I love it! It always makes me cry because I think about my beautiful little girl.

So, Isaac is liking his new job and I am getting used to not working as much. It's great to just be home with the kids. I do miss having Isaac around all the time. Emerson is having a really hard time, because he misses his dad. He got used to having him around all the time and now he asked for him all day. (It makes for a very long day!) I'm watching a little boy named Ben during the day to earn a little extra money. I'm only working at the daycare 2 or 3 nights a week. The kids really enjoy having Ben around and Capri has learned how to say "baby." He is only 6 months only and it's fun to have a little baby around. (I love babies.) Enjoy the new pictures!

Emerson playing around in the playpen

Ben, Capri and Emerson in the playpen. I put them all in there next to the sink while I do dishes. It's the only way to keep track of all three. They love it in there together.

Emerson asleep by his daddy. He misses him so much while he's at work, so Isaac lays by his bed and holds his hand while he falls asleep. When I went in there the other day, I found them both asleep on the floor. It was so cute!

Isaac got a job!

We just thought that we would let everyone know that Isaac found a job. He is working for Cushman and Wakefield as a facilities manager. It's a great job and he's in charge of the E-Bay building in Draper. He starts on Friday and we all couldn't be happier. Thanks for all your prayers out there. It's been a tough month! We feel so loved by everyone!

Funny Things That Kids Do

So I wanted to just post a blog about some of the funny things that the kids do. (Man, there are several things a day.) Emerson has this new thing, whenever he can't fall asleep for a nap or night time, he calls me into his room, puts his hand on his forehead and says "I just don't know what's the matter with me." It is so funny. The other day, Capri reached up on the table and pulled a plate down and broke it. Emerson put his arm around her and said "It's okay, Capri, I broke one last week!" (Which he did actually do.) Capri has this new thing: When she's whining she blows little spit bubbles. I don't know how to do it, but it's hard to take her fit seriously because it's so weird and funny. And lastly, Emerson went up to Isaac today and tapped him on the shoulder and said with a smile "There's something wrong with my teeth!" When Isaac looked at him, he had one of those Halloween fake teeth in his mouth. It's funny that he's starting to figure out the concept of a joke!

Emerson fought bedtime so much one day. I told him and told him to get in bed. He kept playing and playing, but he was so tired. Finally he fell asleep in his stuffed animal box. It was so funny!

Okay, I've been tagged (by Tammy). For those of you that have no idea what is going on, I tell 6 truths (sometimes embarrassing) about myself. Then I get to pick a few people to tell 6 truths about themselves! I choose Tiffanny and Summer to do the same. (If they have time with their busy schedules!

Well, first off, I HATE to clean. I only do it when I have to and usually that is when I'm expecting guests. The funny thing is that I like a clean house . . . I just wish I had a maid to do it for me.

I love to watch LAW AND ORDER. It's on at 10 am every morning and I must watch it. I make sure that the kids are showered, fed and happy and then I watch it every morning. The kids have learned to only disturb me during commercials.

I hate to do MY HAIR AND MAKEUP. Usually I don't do either. I just pull my hair up and call it good. Once I did my makeup and hair and showed up at work and the girls didn't even recognize me, embarrasing huh? I guess I have more important things to do.

Fourth on my list is that I WRITE IN A JOURNAL almost every day. I have done this since I was 8 years old. I have volumes of old journals, all of which I hope no one ever reads because I have every embarassing moment in them. (After I'm dead, though, have at it!)

I would love to have 12 KIDS! (Of course I won't, though.) I love having kids and love having babies. Most of you know that I have surrounded myself in kids. (I have worked at a preschool, daycare, etc.) To bad that they are so expensive. So, I'll just have to settle for 4 or 5 maybe 6. (depends which day you ask and how hard my kids are being) Plus we would have a hard time fitting that many kids into our little apartment.

Lastly I don't like CRANBERRIES. I have to mention this because they are a popular holiday food. Don't be affended if I pick them out of a salad or put them all on Isaac's plate. On that same note, I don't like cranberry sauce either!

Well, hope you learned a little about me today. Thank you Tammy for putting me up to this!

So I didn't have this blog on Capri's birthday, so I thought I do a little story about it now. Capri turned 1 year old in September. (Boy, time goes by quick!) We did a zoo themed pary and had it at my mom's house. It was great! I can't believe that my little girl is 1 year old.

Finally a blog for the Jatens!
So after a month of waiting for Internet at home, we finally have it! I have wanted to do a blog for so long, but haven't had access to a computer,Well, here's a little about our family:

Isaac is enjoying being home with the kids. He has been out of a job for about a month now, man time goes by quickly. He is actively seeking jobs and will most likely have one by the end of next week. He has been great to have around the house, though. He takes the kids while I'm at work and cleans, vacuums, does dishes, whatever! It has been kind of nice having him around so much.

Ashley is still running the daycare in Sugarhouse. It's really starting to wear on me, though. I have a really hard time with all the stress, but I'm dealing with it. I can't wait to cut down on my hours. I interviewed 4 people today and have 3 more interviews on Monday. I hope to hire 2 or 3 people. It would be great to have someone else to work all my shifts!

Emerson is almost 3. He is very full of energy and keeps us busy. He is very good to his sister and is always keeping her out of trouble. He won't let her put anything in her mouth, though, and this frustrates her. He also tries to make sure that she eats all her food, even if this mean sitting in front of her high chair, encouraging her for 30 minutes. It's really cute. He is completely potty trained! (A day we never thought we'd see.) He loves to play at the daycare and cries if I don't take him with me.

Capri is 1 and we call her the "little diva". She is very content and patient. (As long as she is getting everything that she wants.) She walks all around the house and is starting to get very independent. We had such a fun surprise when we got home the other day to discover that someone had sent Capri the cutest pair of shoes from her secret admirer! We had all had a hard day and this was so much fun. (She wears them all the time.) She is getting to the point wear you can start to make out some words through all her babels. She is quite vocal, but you can't understand her most of the time.

Well, most posts won't be this long, this was just my introduction! We'll try to keep it updated!
