Pictures

We tried to get some good pictures before we went to church, but the kids were totally not cooperating with us. At least we got a couple cute ones. Also you can see the new color on the walls in our kitchen! We decided we didn't like the red because it was too dark, so we painted it a light yellow. We really like how it all turned out.

That's My Sock!

The kids apparently don't remember what Christmas stockings are because they think they are just super big socks. Isaac went to put them away under the tree and Capri got really upset and yelled "Hey, that's MY sock!" Then she pulled it on her feet and walked away. (Sorry about Capri's face in the pictures. We had just had a snack and I didn't wipe her mouth yet!)

BABYSITTER?

Okay, I have never actually payed someone to babysit my kids. (Sad I know, we don't get out much.) Well, we just moved into this great ward with tons of great young women, but I don't know how much to pay them! What do babysitters go for these days?

LOTS OF UPDATE BELOW

There are lots and lots of updates below. We will be going out of town in about a week, so I figured I'd catch up before we left. ENJOY all the pictures!

Decorating for Christmas

Since we are leaving for Thanksgiving and will be in Utah for a while, we decided to decorate for Christmas, so it will be all decorated when we get back at the first part of December. The kids had so much fun. We haven't done a tree the last 2 years, so they thought it was the best thing ever. Isaac and I had so much fun pulling out all the decorations. We ended up putting up three little trees and a big Christmas tree. It was so much fun to decorate with the kids. Holidays are so more fun with kids around. There favorite part was the mini candy canes we put on the tree. I got mad that them at first for picking them off, but then decided that it was okay and let me eat all within their reach. They only eat a couple at a time before they loose interest. They'll be gone in a couple of days and I won't have to deal with it any more. Who doesn't love eating candy canes? Capri carries around the baby Jesus from one of our nativity sets and thinks it's her baby and rocks it to sleep. It's really cute. Lindsey wanted to see a picture of our decorations, so here you are!

Finger Paints

Emerson and Capri, believe it or not, have never done finger paints. I thought it would be fun for one of our daily crafts and the kids loved it. They were a little timid at first because they couldn't imagine that fact that I was encouraging them to get paint all over themselves, but figured out really fast that I was okay with it and dug in. They painted for a good hour and then had a great time taking a really long bath. We'll have to do it again. It was really easy to clean up, too.

A Chicken Bit Me

Poor Emerson had a rough week. He got a stye in his eye that really bugged him and made him look like he had pink eye. Then, when I was going to give him a bath, I pulled off his shirt and he was covered in little red dots. Isaac and I couldn't figure out what they were. Isaac suggested chicken pox, but the kids have both been immunized. The kids have really sensitive skin and we changed laundry soap, so I think it was just a rash from that because with some benadril it went away. Well, I asked Emerson later what happened and he told me as pathetic as he could "A chicken bit me!" It was really cute, he must have overheard us talking about chicken pox! The pictures are mostly for Dan, who was really interested in diagnosing poor Emerson, but rashes are really hard to diagnose over the phone!

Preparing for baby

It is so exciting. We only have about 3 months left before baby boy joins our family. I have still been sick every day, and I'm lucky if I can make it through all 3 hours of church. Isaac has been so sweet. (He does fight me on the back massages, but he always does it.) The kids are starting to get really excited. It's really cute. We have set up just the cradle and rocking chair in our master bedroom. We will eventually set up everything else, but right now the "baby's room" is a guest room. Let's face it, though, my babies end up in my bedroom for around a year anyway. So, everyone wants to see another belly picture. Not much to see, I've actually lost weight, so I think I look the same as I did 3 months ago. BUT, just so all you worriers out there know, the baby is doing great. They seem to be able to get what they need, even when you aren't keeping much down. He is measuring small, but I have no doubt that he'll start picking up the pace and he'll be another hefty baby for me.

Let me explain . . .

So, I don't think I will ever live this down, but let me explain myself . . . While packing, I wanted to put the kids movies in a different box than the adult movies. Well, what else was I going to call them? Well, while the moving company was unpacking our boxes into the storage garage, my dad asked one of the guys if he could tell a lot about people by the kind of boxes they packed. At that exact moment, the guy grabbed 3 boxes all labeled "Adult DVDs." I guess everyone had a great time at my expense. Maybe I should have named them PG and PG-13 movies??? I don't think I will ever live it down.

Playing in the back yard

It is so nice to have such a nice back yard. The weather has been great lately and all the kids want to do is play outside all day long. They have a great time and I've been able to enjoy just being with them. I usually sit out there on a lawn chair and write in my journal while they play. Works out great for everyone. It has gotten a little cold. We go out first thing in the mornings, usually, and it can get down to the 60's, so the kids are thrilled when they get to wear gloves and hats. Emerson keeps saying how excited he is for it to snow. He'll be waiting for a while . . .

By Popular Demand

So, for some reason, you couldn't blow up that picture of Capri, so I zoomed in for you. (I've had several requests.)

I want these shirts

These maternity shirts are on my wish list. I found this great website with about 1,000 different shirts. These were among my faves.

Still Biting

So, if you look back on my blog back to February, I asked for help with Emerson and the biting thing. Guess what? I have tried everything I can think of and he still bites. And when I say bites, I mean once a week he bites down on Capri or Isaac and draws blood. (For some odd reason he NEVER bites me.) Any other mothers out there have a serial biter? I have even consulted the pediatrician who didn't really help much. I would appreciate any advice and appreciate all those who left advice 10 months ago. Can't believe it's still a problem!!!!!

ROUGH DAY

Capri had a very busy day doing everything from roller skating to drawing all over herself. She looked so put together and happy at the beginning of the day, but by the end . . . . Well, you can see the picture.

Tagged by Tammy

So, I was tagged a while back by Tammy. Here's my 4th photo from my 4th file. It's Isaac and Capri in Alaska last September standing in front of a glacier. It was sooo cold. I tag Kendra, Paige and Madison.

Happy Halloween!

We had a pretty good Halloween. The kids were so anxious to put on their costumes and couldn't wait for daddy to get home from work so we could go trick or treating. Emerson was a race car driver and Capri was a fairy. We couldn't get her to wear the hat the went with it, but I did get one picture of her with it on. We decided to just go to the mall since we don't know any of the neighbors. We got to the mall about 6:00pm and their were signs everywhere that said they were all out of candy! They started at 5 and were suppose to go until 9. The kids were super disappointed, but we didn't let that stop us. We went to Walmart and luckily the greeters had candy. We bought some candy and then went to Chili's for dinner. We gave all the waiters candy and the kids trick or treated to them. Everybody had a great time. Since there were only 3 people eating at the restaurant, we got lots of attention. So, the kids got their candy and were happy. We'll have to do more research on something to do next year.

Carving Pumpkins

We had a great time carving pumpkins. The kids were thrilled when they got to dig the guts out of the pumpkins. They thought it was so cool. We aren't very creative when it come to design, but they turned out cute. We got the kids some little pumpkins that they decorated with some pegs I found at the store. We had a great time. I was going to bake the pumpkin seeds, but never got around to it. Maybe next year.

Missionaries for dinner

We were lucky enough to have the missionaries for dinner a couple weeks ago. It was such a fun experience. The kids adored the elders and were sad to see them leave. It was great to learn a little about their lives at home. They shared a little message before they left. We had a great time and hope that we can have them over again some time.

What we've been up to . . .

So I realize that it's been a while. We have been really busy with unpacking and moving into our new house. The kids have really been helpful with unpacking boxes. Emerson loves finding all the stuff in the boxes that we haven't seen in 6 months. Capri is just content to watch and come over if it's something she can play with. The pregnancy is going okay. I've been pretty sick. Surprising since I haven't really been sick with the other pregnancies. I'm really trying to gain weight, but it's hard when you can't keep anything down. The baby is doing well, but measuring a little small. I'm sure he'll catch up and I'll have another large baby. We are still doing our daily crafts and Emerson really looks forward to each one. Enjoy the pictures!
