Emerson on his 4th birthday

I can't believe that Emerson turned 5 today! The time has flown by. It seems like only yesterday I was in the hospital in shock at how big of a baby he was! (9lbs. 2 oz.) Emerson is so sweet (when he wants to be. . .) He loves to play outside with his sister and help me do the dishes. He was such a smiley baby and has turned out to be just a goof ball as a kid. He looks forward to primary every week. He loves to help feed Cade and loves to make Cade laugh. He does also enjoy bugging Capri, though. He kept me running from the very beginning. He crawled WELL at 6 months and walked at 11 months. He is sooo smart and loves to put together puzzles, tell jokes, and figure out riddles. I asked him some of his favorites and these were his responses.
Favorite Color: Brown and Gray
Favorite Food: Spaghetti
Favorite Candy: Andes Mints
Favorite Animal: Elephant
Favorite Toys: Race Cars and Robots
Favorite TV Show: Max and Ruby
Favorite thing to do: Play tag outside
Favorite Sport: Soccer

I can't believe that last night I will kissed my 4 year old for the last time. (Okay, I admit it - I bawled!) He has sure kept me on my toes over the years. I have laughed and cried, but I wouldn't change one minute I've had with him. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful little boy!

I know they just did a give away, but this is perfect for Christmas gifts. They are usually $32 each plus shipping, so it's such a good deal. I like to keep little baby gifts on hand and this is perfect! Can't beat this kind of deal!

Pictures

All of Isaac's family came into town for an early Thanksgiving and we got some photos done. We had a hard time finding an available photographer, but luckily I have a friend from high school whose sister in law is a photographer and they turned out great. I mostly put on pictures of our imediate family since it's mostly my family that looks at this . . . I wish the kids were in better moods! They missed their naps and they were quite grumpy. I think they turned out good, though. Some cute scowls for sure! :-) We are going to hire her in the spring to take picture of our family. We can't wait.

Thanksgiving

Cooking Thanksgiving dinner is a LOT of work. I should have taken more photos, but I was so busy. These are the only ones that I got! I didn't take pictures of all the wonderful deserts that we made. We had such a wonderful time with my mom and dad. We were so happy that they were able to come. It felt so nice to have family in town for Thanksgiving. I cried when they left. :-( We went shopping, on some great walk, picked fresh oranges from our orange grove, and other fun things. Emerson really enjoyed my dad's I-phone. It was cute. He would have played all day if we let him. We can't wait to see everyone for Christmas. I just wish Lindsey and Dan could have been there. It would have made things perfect!

Yes, we are . . .

For those of you who aren't on facebook, we made an announcement there yesterday. Yes we are expecting #4. We were shocked, but have had a while to get over that and just be excited. We are expecting to welcome our little bundle in June. We feel so blessed to have so many cute little kids to love. Also, how fun for them that they get to be so close together in age. I hope they are all best buddies. We will be finding out what we are having in January, so not long at all. We are fine either way, but think a girl would be great. (So does Emerson because according to him "we already have a boy baby!") I'm not sure of an exact due date yet, we have been to the doctor 3 times and they have changed in twice. We'll let you know . . . We have seen the baby and heard the heart beat. What a wonderful sound! I guess no putting off that bigger car. Must buy one soon. :-)

9 months old!

Okay, so we had Cade's 9 month appointment today, about a week after he turned 9 months. At least I remembered to make the appointment! :-) He is doing well. I have had to stop nursing him and now he takes a bottle. They were very concerned about his weight two weeks ago when I took him in. He weighed in at only 15 pounds and had been very irritable. We decided that he needed to be bottle fed because I wasn't providing what he needed. In two weeks he gained 2 pounds! Hungry boy! Glad we made that hard decision. He's in the 5-10th percentil for weight, 25th for length and 10th for head. He sits up well and likes to feed himself. He doesn't really crawl well on his hands and knees, but get around pretty fast on his stomach. He's not pulling himself to standing yet. They say he's a little behind, but I don't think he is. He was 5 weeks early! I think he's doing great. He is extremely happy and LOVES to be held. He had no teeth, which is weird, but the doctor said he'll get them soon. Both other babies had at least one by now . . . He is sleeping through the night. Has been for a while, thank goodness. We are so happy to have him in our family! Can't believe it's been 9 months!
Here's the stats and comparisons of all the kids at 9 months. (I think it's so much fun to compare!)

Emerson: height 29 inches, weight 17 lbs. 15 oz.
Capri: height 26 inches, weight 16 lbs. 9 oz.
Cade: height 27 3/4 inches, weight 17 lbs. 3 oz.

The boy's room!

I really thought I had pictures of the "before" of Emerson's room, but I can't find them. I'll have to put them on when I find them. His room was a really dark red with "geometrical shapes" wall paper at the top. Pretty bad . . . but - I finally finished Emerson and Cade's room! I LOVE how it turned out. I turned out better than I could have imagined. Emerson loves it. I still have to get the picture of Christ framed and a couple other things hung up, but I LOVE it. Enjoy the pictures!
