Under the plan of heaven, the husband and the wife walk side by side as companions, neither one ahead of the other, but a daughter of God and a son of God walking side by side.

Our friend

I just had to post this. For some reason all the bugs here in Arizona are bigger than in Utah. We found two spiders in the bathroom and this picture is of the SMALLER of the two. That's a quarter next to it. Sorry the picture was blurry, I was not getting very close, so I had to super zoom in. Good thing Isaac was home. Anyone who knows me well knows that I HATE spiders. Let's just say that him and his buddy died, and the exterminator was called that very day.

Not much to blog about, but I wanted to share these cute pictures of the kids. They make me smile. We are just hanging in there and counting the days until the baby gets here. I have been on bed rest now for a couple days. At my appointment on Wednesday my FFN test came back +. (Which usually indicates that the baby will be born within 7-14 days.) I am still only 34 weeks, so we are praying for closer to 14 days. I'm being very careful and spend most the day sitting on the floor with the kids in the toy room playing. Not a bad way to spend the day, I have to say. My mom will be here next week and I AM SO EXCITED! I am really looking forward to having her around. We have the best time together and the kids just adore her. Can't believe it's so close. It is driving me nuts that I can't clean, though. Bed rest and the nesting instinct don't work well together. Thanks for all the prayers! We are feeling very good about things, especially since we've made it to the 34 week mark. That's a very good thing.

Yes, It's another update!

Another picture of the toy room.

Kids sitting on the new "pirate map" rug. (Not sure why the picture is so crooked.)

Emerson is so proud of his plant.

Capri filling her pot with dirt

Emerson counting our how many shovel fulls of dirt he needed.

Emerson reading books in his "reading nook" in the toy room

Capri and Isaac snuggling. Just a cute picture. She love the weekends when he's home.

Not sure why she is sitting the the toy box, but she was sure having fun.

Capri loving Pippin. (He was purring, by the way.)

"Help me!"

We have been having so much fun lately, that it's hard not to update every couple days. The kids are still enjoying our new little kitten and I can't believe how much the cat loves them back. He is so patient. The toy room is a hit and I love having a place to just "throw" all the toys. We created a little "reading nook" and Emerson sits on a blanket by the book shelf and reads for hours. (Bean bags are on my list of things to buy. Maybe for Easter.) I also picked up this great "pirate map" rug at Lowe's on clearance for only $4! It looks great in there.
We also decided that it would be good for the kids to plant some tomato plants of their very own to take care of. It's weird to think that in January we could be planting plants, but this is the perfect time to start growing your vegies. The cool thing about Arizona is that their are two "growing seasons", spring and fall. The kids had a great time and can't wait to eat the tomatoes off their plants.

Play Room

Sorry to all you people who think I update to often, but my mom and sister really love seeing all kinds of pictures. I'm just getting all my posts in before the baby gets here, because I'm sure I'll not have much time when that time comes. Like I said earlier, we turned our old "guest room" into a play room for the kids. I love that I have a place to "throw" all their toys and the kids play in their together for hours. I don't know why we didn't think of it before.

The pregnancy is going great. I am getting really panicked about getting everything done and getting the house super organized. We are also dodging questions from Emerson who wants to know how we are going to get the baby out. For now he's content with "the doctor takes him out." I know some people would say to just tell him, but he's a chatty child and I'm sure he'd give his primary class an anatomy lesson, so for now we are just going with the doctor thing. Capri is still in denial and whenever anyone says anything about a baby she says "Capri's the baby!" I wonder how things are going to go when he actually get here . . . It's weird to think that we only have 4-5 more weeks! Hopefully not sooner than that. We are so lucky that even with Capri being 5 weeks early she was so healthy. We aren't going to see if we get "lucky" again. Let's just bake him longer!

The kids have been begging to go swimming. It's still a little to cold outside, so I decided to let them get in their swimming suits (or "wimming soups" as Capri calls them) and go "swimming" in my tub. They had a great time! It was cute to see them get all excited about a bath. They had a great time coloring with their bath crayons and splashing around. They stayed in for about an hour and I was able to get all the laundry folded and put away. I'm so blessed to have such wonderful children.

This is for Madi and Paige

This one's for you Madison and Paige. I have avoided taking any pictures of me because I have gotten so big. This is just to make you guys both feel better. Keep in mind I still have a good 5-6 weeks to go! I haven't taken a pregie picture recently on purpose. The baby is measuring big, as you can tell. (I've been telling you guys I get big, and here's the picture to prove it!) Love you guys. Wish you were going to be here to make me laugh!

Family Pictures

We decided to take some pictures before church. They turned our really good. The kids were in a good mood and we were able to get them both smiling at the same time.

Goof Balls!

I'm potty traing Capri which is why they are both naked. Less clothing means less accidents. (Emerson didn't want to wear clothes if Capri didn't have to.) These were just some cute pictures of them being goofy today. They made me smile and I thought I'd share!

My kids are preparing me for no sleep . . .

My night last night:

10:45pm: Finally got to go to sleep. Both kids are successfully asleep in the same room! (We're trying to get them to sleep together so that we can have a "toy room")
11:30pm: Capri wakes up screaming. Wakes up Emerson. Get them both a drink and convince them to go back to sleep.

12:15am: Emerson gets up to tell me he has to go potty.

1:30am: Capri awake again! What the heck?

2:45am: Awake to Capri yelling that she pooped. (She hadn't, by the way . . .)

4:00am: Capri screaming again. ("Daddy, I stinky!") She wasn't stinky, yet again.

4:30am: Capri still throwing a fit and has now driven Emerson into our bed.

5:15am: Capri is finally asleep, but I awake to Emerson saying he's "wet" and needs new jamies. He wet the bed - my bed. Isaac is awake and disgusted. I change sheets and Emerson.

6:30am: Isaac gets up to shower and get ready for work. Poor man. He's probably exhausted.

7:00am: Emerson awake and ready for the day . . .

9:30am: Capri finally wakes up, refreshed. Little stinker. (With no poop in her diaper.)

Oh, and I had to get up to go to the bathroom about 4 times (that I remember) somewhere in there. So, I decided to look at the glass as half full. The kids just want to ease us into no sleep when the new baby gets here. They just looked so cute this morning eating candy canes and playing with play dough. Hopefully tonight goes better . . .

Quick Update

We have been having a great time just hanging out together and getting ready for the baby. Emerson is growing up so big and is average weight for his age, but is the average height of a 5 year old! (This makes it sooo hard to find pants that fit him.) We are working on writing and "preschool" prep. He is doing really good at writing his name and knows all his colors and shapes. Capri refers to herself as "Princess Capri" and refuses to wear anything but skirts, dresses, and tutu's. If I put her in jeans, I have to put on her tutu or else she will just strip down. She is so funny.

The pregnancy is going by so fast. The doctor moved my induction date up to February 27, but doesn't feel that I will still be pregnant by then. The baby is growing and she can't believe how fast he is growing. I've only gained 13 lbs, but the baby is starting to measure big even after measuring small for so long. She has assured me that she will not let him get to big and I'm glad that she is going to induce me so early, if he doesn't come sooner. I am dilated to a 2 and 100% effaced. I am only 32 weeks, so lets just keep in in until at least 37! It's weird to think I only have 4-6 weeks left! I'm feeling great and really getting a lot done around the house. (I've already got the freezer STUFFED with freezer meals.) I have been struggling with healing from pneumonia, but I feel that I am finally starting to get better. Isaac is working hard and looking forward to taking some time off to enjoy the new baby. Enjoy all the pictures below.

Perfect Weather

So, I wish that I could keep the weather exactly as it was today. It's in the 70's and nice and sunny. We have been spending a lot of time outside because of the perfect weather. The kids just play and I sit on our new patio furniture (thanks mom and dad!) and read. It's a great way to spend the day. I usually have to drag the kids in for a nap and then right when they wake up they are ready to go outside again. I don't mind because I'm actually getting caught up writing in my journal and reading. Emerson usually runs around kicking a ball and Capri plays with bubbles or carries rocks around in a basket. I wish it didn't get so hot in the summer. We'll have to enjoy the cool weather while it lasts!

Costumes and Play Dough

So, the kids found the Halloween costumes and have been begging to play with them. I said no at first and explained that they were Halloween costumes and we would get them out next year, but then got to thinking. They are just costumes and why not enjoy them as much as possible. I'm always complaining that costumes cost SO much to only be used once a year. The kids have been wearing different ones around the house for a week now. It's really cute. Emerson love the witch cape and Capri likes the dinosaur. They even wore them while playing with play dough. Oh, to be a kid again!!

Kitty Love

I can't figure out why the cat doesn't RUN in the opposite direction every time he sees one of the kids, but he doesn't. He great about letting the kids "love" on him. The cat will even jump on their laps if they are sitting on the coach and I've had to start shutting their bedroom doors at night because he climbs on them when they are sleeping. It think it cute that they all love each other so much. It's great to see Emerson enjoy his kitty so much.

Pauls come to visit

John, Wendy, Eleri and Mariah were able to come visit us in Arizona. We had a wonderful time. The only down side was that they were here for way to short. We wish they could have stayed longer!! We had a wonderful time and the weather was beautiful. We were able to go to Ikea, hang out around our house, go out to eat and to the zoo. We had sooo much fun. Hopefully they had a good enough time that they will make that long drive again. We sure miss them already!
