Under the plan of heaven, the husband and the wife walk side by side as companions, neither one ahead of the other, but a daughter of God and a son of God walking side by side.

Our names

I wanted to know that meanings of our names. It was fun to know what they were. We didn't pick their names based off the meanings, but it's funny how some of them ring true to personalities. Here you go:

Isaac: He laughs, Laughter
Michael: Gift from God

Anyone who know Isaac knows he has a great sense of humor and he is a gift to this family! :-)

Ashley: Lives in the Ash tree

Okay that was boring.

Emerson: Brave, powerful

Wilford: Desires peace

He is definitely powerful, not sure about the desires peace thing, yet . . .

Capri: impulsive

Lin: Family name

Wow, this one is definitely Capri. We got Lin because we wanted to name her after Linda (grandma) and my sister Lindsey.Cade: small battle, spirit of the battle

Michael: Gift from God

Cade did fight his small battle to get here and he is our gift from God.

What does all your family names mean? It's fun to find out.

Excuse me?!?

Okay, I usually don't complain on my blog, but I use this as a journal, so indulge me. I was at the store yesterday night, WITH Cade in the car seat. Some lady came up to me and asked that dreaded question, "Are you pregnant?" Excuse me?!? Did you seriously just ask the lady carrying a car seat with a 6 pound baby in it if she was expecting? Seriously DON'T ask people unless they are checking into Labor and Delivery. Okay, I feel better now.

Me . . . again

Sorry about all the posts, but Lindsey and my mom are in desperate need of constant pics. I can't believe Cade is already 2+ weeks old! It's going by so quick. Cade is finally back over 6 lbs. so we don't have to go to the doctor for weight checks any more. He still sleeps all the time and I still have to wake him at night. He definitely is having more "awake" times. It's great to see his eyes. Emerson and Capri are still doing great. They play so well together, they hardly ever need me all day. They just run around together and play the cutest "made up" games. Mom and Dad are in town for meetings and they were able to spend the night here last night before heading to their hotel today. It was so much fun to see them. I haven't seen my dad since Thanksgiving! I really missed him. It was great to see him meet Cade! He just kept saying how he was so much smaller than he thought he'd be. I should have taken pics, but I didn't! Enjoy the newest pics. Some I had to change to Sepia, because I couldn't get rid of the "bug" red eyes. We were taking tons of photos today to try to get a good one for an announcement. Also, to explain the fork picture. Emerson came to me with his "contraption." When I asked him what he had done to his truck, he told me he had made it into a fork-lift. :-) I have to say I'm impressed with his creativity!!

New Table - More pictures

Cute picture of Emerson and Capri. They are both smiling! (Don't mind the mess in the back. I am packing up all the winter clothes because it's such nice weather here now.)

The only way I could get her to smile for this picture was if I promised her a piece of chocolate!
Capri pretending to be a baby.
Our new kitchen table! It fits the space so much better than our other one. It's twice the size of the other one and sits 8 instead of only 4! We actually combined to tables to make this one. (It's a long story and we weren't sure how it would turn out, but we think it looks great!) Now we just need to finish painting, get some drapes, and hang pictures!
Cade asleep in the bouncer. Lindsey got it for me when I had Emerson and all the kids have loved it! (Thanks Linds)
Look how small he looks in it!

Pay if Forward

So, here's how this game works-the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or be lazy and copy and paste like I did). Then come back, let me know you're going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift!

Send me an email with your address, Remember, only the first three get a gift, so you have to be super fast!

Picture Overload!

Cade sucking his thumb. (We are trying to discourage this . . .), but it's still cute!

Emerson and Capri playing. Emerson was a "robot" and Capri was running away with her baby. She's really into dressing up lately. Emerson saw her today and said she was a pretty princess. She responded by saying "I'm not a princess today, I'm a barbie!" It was pretty cute. They are so good playing together. It's really nice.

Capri eating on the TV table watching a movie. (This is a major "special event" at our house. The kids love it!)
Emerson enjoying his dinner at the TV table.
Pretty Capri. (Frosting on her face and all!)
Funny picture of the cat. This is how he likes to sleep on my lap. He lays on his back and purrs when I pet his tummy.
Sweet baby boy, sleeping like always.
Sleeping in his swing.
Emerson laying on the coach watching a movie. (We lounged around the house all day today. Can you tell?)
A picture with his eyes open!
Sweet baby asleep. He loves to lay on me while he sleeps.
This is what it looks like without the blanket. Cute huh?
Ready to go to the store!
Wrapped in his "Bili-blanket" enjoying the warmth. (His Bili levels are still high, so we are still under lights . . .
Sorry about all the pictures, I just love taking them. I actually am using the blog as a "scrapbook"/"journal". I'm pretty good at writing in a journal, but have a hard time sitting down and having enough time lately. Isaac is holding Cade and the kids are watching a movie, so I thought I'd slip away and do a quick post. It's been interesting figuring out how to get all three kids out of the house alone! I think I have it figured out, now. We went on a nice long walk, just the kids and I, today. I wore Cade all wrapped up in the baby sling and pushed the kids in the double stroller. We took a nice hour long walk and really enjoyed meeting some of the neighbors. I even got invited to join a local play group. I'm really excited about that. Well, enjoy all the pictures.

Can't get enough!

One of the few times he has his eyes open. He loves to be bundled. I thought it was cute how he had one of his hands out behind his head!

Time to eat!

Sweet Capri doing gymnastics. For some reason the red-eye reducer gave her a bit of a "black eye." Don't worry, she doesn't have one!
Emerson and his "camera" smile. He was so tired in this picture.
Sweet baby!
I can not get enough of this sweet baby! I have been so blessed to get such a wonderful baby. Isaac says it's so I'll have more. (I'm was thinking three was a good number, but Isaac thinks 5 is a good number. We'll have to see . . . He definitely has been a great baby and might convince me that we need more.) He sleeps most the day and is on a great schedule at night. (Thank you to the NICU staff.) He wakes up only about 2-3 times a night, but is so quiet that Isaac thought he was sleeping through the night and got upset because we have to still feed him every 2-3 hours. :-) I'm serious when I say he never cries! Emerson and Capri are so sweet with him. Emerson is a great help and wants to help with everything. Capri doesn't seem to be to jealous and is more interested in the babies stuff than anything else. She wants to put diapers on her dolls and stuffed animals and then wrap them up and put them in the swing, cradle, etc. It's pretty cute. I just CAN'T GET ENOUGH!

Lovin' It!

I absolutely love having three kids! I couldn't ask for better kids. Emerson and Capri have done great adjusting. They run into my room in the morning to see him. It's so cute. The kids "helped" me give him a sponge bath this morning. It was really fun. Emerson held his hand so he wouldn't cry. He didn't cry at all and actually fell asleep while I was washing his hair. It was pretty funny. Cade is the best baby ever. He only eats three times a night, and I have to wake him up because he would simply sleep through his feedings if I didn't. (Can't wait until the doctor gives me the go ahead to just let him sleep! He's still under 6 pounds, though, so not for a while.) He's so sweet. I've had a few people ask about his eye. He's got some bruising on one of his eyes from the birth process. The doctor said a little of it might be a birth mark, but it's hard to to tell right now.

Finally home with our baby!

We are finally home. Six days is a LONG time. I want to thank everyone for all their love and support. We are surrounded by wonderful people. Cade did so well and really started to improve quickly after a couple days. They said he did wonderful for a baby boy born at 35 weeks. Especially since his biggest hurtle was "TTN" which is not really because he was premature. The kids were so excited when we came home and have been wanting to hold him non stop. Right now he just wants to sleep in a quiet, dark room, so we are working with the kids and helping them understand that babies need lots of sleep. It was really cute because when we told Emerson that he needed to sleep so he could grow he burst into tears and said that he wanted him to stay little forever! (That's how I feel about all of them!!) We are happy to be home and look forward to "getting used" to be being a family of 5!
