I'm exhausted

I'm exhausted. Why? Well, let me start from the beginning. Isaac and I had a relaxing Sunday. We put the kids to bed and were sure they would fall asleep fast because they had no naps. Isaac and I decided to watch an episode of Law and Order together. Capri and Emerson both fell asleep, but Capri kept sneezing. Weird only because she sneezed about 15 times in an hour. Then a little after 10:30 she wakes up screaming. I ran to get her and she was really upset. I noticed that her nose looked a little swollen. Isaac thought it might be broken, but she never fell. I decided to take a look up her nose with a flash light. There was something up there. We tried a couple things to get it out, but didn't succeed. So, I packed her up and off we went to the ER. She was pretty upset, but cheered right up when we got to the hospital, for some odd reason. She loves people and enjoyed waving and smiling at everyone in the waiting room. Finally after 3 HOURS in the waiting room, we get seen by a doctor. The doctor tried a couple things and finally get "it" out. What was "it"? Well, the nose piece to some glasses! Emerson said his sunglasses broke and a piece was missing. Why didn't I think to look for it up Capri's nose?? :-) Well, we headed home at about 2:30am. Capri slept in until about 9:30, but Emerson got up at his usual 7. Well, I'm exhausted. Watch your nose pieces, everyone, you never know when your silly 2 year old might shove it up a nostril!

Thank you Caroline!

So a friend my mine from high school sent the kids the CUTEST jamies. She is so super talented. The kids LOVED them. She is such a good seamstress. I'm totally impressed! Just wanted to thank her by taking the kids pictures in them. (I just laid Cade's on him. He was sleeping. They are a little big and he will look super cute in them in a few months!) Thank you so much Caroline. We love them. (Notice the PAINTED wall behind them. I'm almost done with the kitchen.)

Jury Duty

When we were getting our new driver's licences for Arizona, I told Isaac we should register to vote. His response? No, then I'll just have to do jury duty. I told him no one has to do jury duty. Well, guess what? Isaac is currently one of the jurors on a trial that goes through the weekend. Sorry babe! :-)
Oh, enjoy the pics! They are of Cade in the jump-a-roo and Emerson doing his craft project for the day. (He was so excited to be using scissors!)

Funny Capri

So here are two funny things Capri said today:

I made noodles for lunch. They ate them all and Capri wanted more. I told her the noodles were gone, but I was more than happy to get her an apple. She said, "No, just make some all nice and new for me." It just made me laugh.

We were looking at old pictures together. She saw a picture of her as a baby and said "That me as a baby!" Then about 5 minutes later we were on some more recent pictures. She looked at one of herself a couple months ago and said "That's me when I was Capri." Huh? :-) Silly girl!
Oh, one more. On the way home from Isaac's parents, I looked back to see Capri sucking on a paci! I told her pacis were for babies, then she said "I just want to pretend to be a baby for a little - tiny bit, k?"

Happy Father's Day

We had a wonderful Father's Day. We went out to dinner with Isaac's parents on Saturday. Then we went to their house on Sunday and got to see them again. It was a great two days. Emerson was so sweet and helped me make Isaac dinner in bed and even hand drew him a card. It was really fun. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful dad in our home. He is a wonderful father, very involved. He's great at helping with the kids and puts them to bed almost every night. I don't know what we'd do without him. We love you! Also wanted to tell my own dad that I love him very much. I am lucky to have such wonderful men in my life!

Jaten Family Water Games

We decided to do water games on Saterday. We were suppose to have swimming lessons and a fun "party night" at the pool where the kids take lessons, but it was canceled. The kids were heartbroken, so we decided to fill about 100 water balloons and toss them around in the back yard. I cut the top off of milk cartons, and they made perfect containers to play catch. Capri wasn't a fan of throwing them around and ESPECIALLY didn't like being hit by them, but liked just squeezing them until they burst. We had a great afternoon and next time, we will buy a lot more balloons. They were gone pretty fast. Good thing we had the Nemo sprinkler to run through.

Pictures

So, there is one more of Cade. Emerson and Capri didn't want to get dressed today, so I didn't make them. Capri is still potty training, and it's easy if she doesn't have clothes to try to work around in the bathroom. (Emerson insists on being nakie if Capri gets too.) Plus it is sooo hot! I absolutely love the new digital camera. Funny story, though. Emerson asked if he could have the old one. It's broken so I told him that he could. He come up to me and says "smile mommy" and I do, then he takes a picture. (Yes, the camera worked.) I asked to see the camera and it is working fine. I was so mad that I already bought the new one. The new one is way nicer so I guess we have a spare now. Oh well, can't do anything about it now!

My review

I usually don't do reviews on stuff, but I was COMPLETELY disappointed in this product. I am contacting One Step Ahead to get a replacement. (I was hoping I could use this for Cade.) It literally came apart on me and the zipper broke. (After only a couple months.) I spent over $85 on this. Just be warned. I LOVE the idea, but I just thought I'd let people know not to waste your money. Buy a gate and put it at the door - It's less expensive. . . My review is because they are being NASTY about giving me a new one. I told them I'd be letting all my family and friends know how I felt about the product. Not sure many people read this blog, but just wanted people to know about this little product (that I HATE.)

My Review of Cozy Crib Tent II

One Step Ahead

Our deluxe Cozy Crib Tent not only prevents climbing and falling...it keeps little limbs from getting stuck between crib rails! The safest crib tent ever! Ours not only encloses the top of the crib, it surrounds the entire interior with soft, safe netting. Arms and legs can't get wedged betwee...

DO NOT BUY!

Mom of 3 Phoenix, AZ 6/15/2009

Gift: No

Cons: Hard to Assemble, Unstable

Best Uses: Infants, Toddlers

Describe Yourself: Parent of Two or More Children

I bought this because my toddler kept getting out of bed and wondering around the house at night. It worked great for about 3 months, then the zipper started to give out. Now it doesn't work at all. Also, the seams came undone and there are holes in it. (about a foot or two long in two places.) Had to throw it away because it seemed more of a danger than having her wonder around at night. Not recommended at all. Pour quality!

Break my heart . . .

Last night while putting the kids to bed, Emerson kept getting out of bed. This happens EVERY night and gets really annoying. About the 8th time he got up, he begged me to lay by him. I replied that if he would stay in bed 5 min without coming out again, I would lay by him. This was at about 9pm or so. I watched a show on TV, did some dishes, etc. At about 11pm, I passed by Emerson's room to go to bed. I heard this sweet little voice say "Mommy, has it been 5 minutes yet?" I thought, oh my goodness! I forgot! I went and layed by him and he fell asleep in about 2 minutes. Poor thing waited for 2 hours for me! I feel so bad! It breaks my heart to think he layed there awake and quiet for 2 hours waiting for me. Next time, baby boy, I won't forget.

P.S. Haven't bought a camera yet. We are all sick . . .

Smart Boy

I was doing a "work book" with Emerson today. We were finding things that were similar and things that were different. In the picture there was a bee, ant and kitty. He insisted that the ant and the kitty were the same. I asked him why he thought that and he answered that the kitty and the ant both walk and the bee flies. Smart boy! (I would have said that they ant and bee were insects, but I think I like his better.) Then later we were doing the same except we were finding pairs of things. In the picture there was a pair of flippers and some goggles. He INSISTED that we circle the goggles with the flippers because you can't "scuba" without goggles. What's the point of the flippers if you don't have goggles? :-) Man he is cute!

P.S. I had to add that he finished the ENTIRE 50 page work book in under an hour and wanted me to go to the store and buy another one. He has an AMAZING attention span for a four year old! He's going to LOVE preschool. I hope he doesn't get bored. . .

4 Months old already . . .

Sorry about the boring milestones, but this doubles as a journal!

I can't believe that Cade is 4 months old! Holy cow it goes by quick. We had his check-up today and he is doing great. He rolls over well and the doctor was very pleased with his head control. He doesn't seem to be behind at all because of being premature. If anything, he's ahead. He'll probably crawl early like Emerson did. He still has hardly any hair compared to Emerson and Capri and his eyes are still blue. (Isaac keeps asking if he's the dad. Silly Isaac.) He's still sleeping in his own bed and sleeps all night. He also takes about 2-3 naps a day. He smiles and giggles a lot. It's cute to watch Emerson and Capri get him going. He loves to sit in his bouncer in the toy room and watch them play. He loves to play with toys hung above him. He will also "talk to you" when you talk to him. It's really cute. He's still quite petite, just like my other kids. About 10-20th percentile for everything. Here's the comparisons:
Emerson: Weight: 14 lbs. 4 oz. Height: 25 3/4 inches
Capri: Weight: 13 lbs. 11 oz. Height: 24 inches
Cade: Weight: 13 lbs. 4 oz. Height: 24 inches

Meanwhile, enjoy the pictures. They are about a month old, but still cute. I am still missing Isaac who get home on Friday! Yah! I am painting a bunch. I was trying to get the kitchen all done by the time Isaac got home, but no luck with that. I fell off the ladder today and really hurt my arm and wrist. It makes it hard for me to hold the brush. Glad I didn't get really hurt, though. Poor Emerson is sick ,but still pretty easy to be around. He's just tired. (Which is great. . .) The kids enjoyed a "camp out" in the toy room last night. We set up the sleeping bags and they slept all night in the toy room watching movies. They loved it, but didn't fall alseep until 11 pm! When I went to check on them, they were holding hands - alseep. I wish I had my camera!!!! Enjoy the pictures. We are going to get a new camera THIS WEEKEND!

No More Camera . . .

My digital camera is broken. :-( Capri jumped on top of it (several times) - little stinker. I was going to buy a new one today, but Isaac ended up going out of town for business on short notice. We had to pay for the ENTIRE trip (to expensive Chicago) and then get reimbursed. Here are a couple old photos, but until we get reimbursed, I can't afford a new camera! The one's of Emerson and just of him being cute. He was "posing" with his magnifying glass and wanting me to take pictures of him. The ones of Capri are funny. She was suppose to be in bed sleeping and instead I found her "hiding" under a laundry basket in the hall. To bad they were see through . . . (Don't mind there messy toy room in the background!) I don't have any "new ones" of Cade.
