Under the plan of heaven, the husband and the wife walk side by side as companions, neither one ahead of the other, but a daughter of God and a son of God walking side by side.

9 months old!

Okay, so we had Cade's 9 month appointment today, about a week after he turned 9 months. At least I remembered to make the appointment! :-) He is doing well. I have had to stop nursing him and now he takes a bottle. They were very concerned about his weight two weeks ago when I took him in. He weighed in at only 15 pounds and had been very irritable. We decided that he needed to be bottle fed because I wasn't providing what he needed. In two weeks he gained 2 pounds! Hungry boy! Glad we made that hard decision. He's in the 5-10th percentil for weight, 25th for length and 10th for head. He sits up well and likes to feed himself. He doesn't really crawl well on his hands and knees, but get around pretty fast on his stomach. He's not pulling himself to standing yet. They say he's a little behind, but I don't think he is. He was 5 weeks early! I think he's doing great. He is extremely happy and LOVES to be held. He had no teeth, which is weird, but the doctor said he'll get them soon. Both other babies had at least one by now . . . He is sleeping through the night. Has been for a while, thank goodness. We are so happy to have him in our family! Can't believe it's been 9 months!
Here's the stats and comparisons of all the kids at 9 months. (I think it's so much fun to compare!)

Emerson: height 29 inches, weight 17 lbs. 15 oz.
Capri: height 26 inches, weight 16 lbs. 9 oz.
Cade: height 27 3/4 inches, weight 17 lbs. 3 oz.

The boy's room!

I really thought I had pictures of the "before" of Emerson's room, but I can't find them. I'll have to put them on when I find them. His room was a really dark red with "geometrical shapes" wall paper at the top. Pretty bad . . . but - I finally finished Emerson and Cade's room! I LOVE how it turned out. I turned out better than I could have imagined. Emerson loves it. I still have to get the picture of Christ framed and a couple other things hung up, but I LOVE it. Enjoy the pictures!

ER Visit

So, every parent DREADS that evening ER visit. Sadly enough, in our family, we have had our fair share. I was desperately trying to get Emerson's room all painted last night. I was making great progress, but needed to take a break. (It was almost 9pm and I started about 11am, thanks to the help of Isaac's sister Renee.) I was so excited to get the room all painted and hang some PICTURES on the wall. I had some picture mounting brackets on the table, but figured they were out of Cade's reach. I went to the sink to wash a bottle, when I heard Emerson scream. One of the screams, where you KNOW something is wrong. I ran to him and discovered a very large picture mounting bracket embedded into his leg right below his knee. I was in shock. I called for Isaac and tried to pull it out, but it wouldn't move and just started bleeding really bad. Isaac was freaked out - (He doesn't do very well with these kinds of situations) - so I ran him to the ER. They took an XRay and then numbed his leg in order to remove the bracket. It was soooo hard to remove. They were really surprised by how difficult it was to get out. Emerson was a trouper (plus he couldn't feel anything.) They got it out and then had to give him 2 antibiotic shots (which he was not happy about.) We are watching him really closely for infection, and he is on an oral antibiotic, but he will be fine. He's in a lot of pain today, poor thing. He does think the leg bandage is pretty cool. Just one of those freaky accidents. Oh, enjoy the XRay!

We had a wonderful Halloween. We decided to just hang out at home and just spend time together all day. We did lots of Halloween crafts and carved a couple pumpkins. We took the kids trick-or-treating, but only around the circle. After they got some candy, they were done and just wanted to go home and eat it. They really had fun passing out candy to all the trick or treaters. We rented Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and watched it as a family. It was a great day!

The kids in their matching PJs. I could not get Capri to put down the sucker!

Emerson and all his candy. HE thought it was pretty cool.

Capri and her Candy. All she wanted was the suckers!

Trick-or-Treating. Aren't they cute????

Getting ready to go!

Our neighbors Steelers pumpkin. I thought it was pretty cute! They are HUGE fans.

Scooping out the goop while watching Halloween cartoons.

She wanted to wear that hair bow all day. She looked like she belonged in a 80s work out video!

She said she was pretending to be a baby. Silly girl!
